Doris Jean Wilkins, 79, of Simonton, TX, passed away on June 27, 2024 in Katy, TX.

Final Viewing will be 9:00am-10:45 a.m. Saturday, July 6th at Jerusalem Starlight District Encampment, 33311 Ashe Road, Simonton, TX 77476

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 6th at Jerusalem Starlight District Encampment 33311 Ashe Road, Simonton, TX 77476.

Sister Doris Jean Lofton Wilkins was born in Simonton, TX to Simon & Ida D. Lofton on May 29th, 1945.

Doris attended A.W. Jackson School system in Rosenberg, Texas.

She was employed by Houston Lighting Power for several years.

Doris is preceded in death by her father and mother, Simon and Ida, four brothers, James, Manuel, Ernest, and Johnnie, and one sister Williene Lofton Roberts.

Doris met the love of her life J.E. Wilkins, Jr. and shared 37 beautiful years of marriage, he proceeds her in death.

Doris leaves to mourn; Son: Ernest E. Wilkins (Jelescia), Daughter: Williene Katrice Joseph (Keith), four sisters Shirely Irvin (Willie), Marjorie Mayo (Herman), Brenda Lofton, and Ruby Johns. Three grandchildren, Ernest Wilkins, Jr. (Karen), Torian Wilkins (Quan), and Sha’Torion Gonzales (Tyson). Seven great-grandchildren Torian, Jr., Jaiden, Marhlei, Christian, Stone, Reign, and Tarion, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
