

Dorothy Hubert Dickens Lang Dodson, passed away on Friday, July 13, 2012. She was born in Polk County on October 9, 1927, born to Frances and Reece Hubert. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, her brother and sister, Husbands Dick Dickens and Cliff Lang. Sons Jerry Dickens, Larry Dickens, Michael Lang, Randy Dodson and daughter Shelley Lang. Dorothy was an Executive Secretary for many years and later in life taught High School. She was also a devoted homemaker who excelled in creating a loving home for her family and everyone who came through her doors. As a mother, Dorothy spent her life instilling love, faith, devotion, and wisdom to her children and grandchildren. Her happiest moments were spent surrounded by her grandchildren. She was an inspiration to many whose lives she touched. Dorothy is a member of Greens Bayou Assembly of God/Crossroads Community Church and for many years has been over the Women’s Missionary Council. Her strength, courage and faith throughout her life sustained her until the end. Dorothy is survived by husband: Dolph Dodson; sons: David Dickens and wife Hang, Ricky Dodson & wife Ruby; daughters, Dawna Parks and husband Alan, Tammy Burroughs and husband Mike, Karen Carver, Tina Dorsett, Becky Tice & husband Mark; daughter-i n- law: Becky Dodson and 35 grandchildren and great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A viewing with the family will be from 12:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 21, 2012 at Crossroads Community Church, 12110 East Sam Houston Parkway, Houston, Texas and where funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m., on Saturday, July 21, 2012 Crossroads Community Church, with Pastor Mike Allard officiating.
Interment will follow in Grand View Memorial Park in Pasadena, Texas.
