

During her early life, Dorothy was raised in Port Arthur, Texas. She attended the Thomas Jefferson High School, and graduated with the Class of 1944. Dorothy was a homemaker and a loving mother of 7. She also worked as a teacher's aide for Aldine ISD.
Dorothy loved to cook. Her specialty was rice and gravy, and spaghetti with sausage. Her sense of humor was infectious and she loved to make people laugh.
Leaving behind to cherish her memory: daughters, Nancy Knape and Donna Crowley; sons: Alton Dugas Jr., Roger (Olivia), Maury (Susie), Tommy (Camille); brother, Ronald Lauve; daughter-n-law, Dale Dugas; 19 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. To Jacob and Micalah, grandma thanks you for the love and attention you showed her over the years. She is preceded in death by husband Alton B. Dugas, son Bobby Dugas, grandson Clayton Edward Krape, parents Herbert and Juanita Lauve, brothers Donald Lauve and Herbert Lauve.
Special thanks to caregivers and staff at Combined Glory for helping Dorothy thrive for the last two years; Star of Texas Hospice for their kindness and compassion towards Dorothy, and Joy Thomas who took care of mom’s medical needs for the last 8 years with loving care. To the many friends who visited and helped with her care, we are forever grateful.
