Dorothy Boyett Everett She always believed in angels and now she has become one. Encircled by her husband and three children on March 1, 2013, her spirit departed us on earth to journey into God's welcoming arms.
Dorothy was born on January 4, 1926, in Ft. Worth, Texas. Three days later, she was adopted by her parents, Percy Delbert Boyett and Fannie Lamkin Boyett residing in Houston. She was a radiant beauty all her life. She graduated from San Jacinto High School in 1942, then became the switchboard operator for Hermann Hospital where her father was the Chief Engineer. Next she became a high fashion model for Sakowitz and on television, modeling for the Ames Brothers program.
Dorothy was a talented, passionate poem writer and oil painter. She was a world traveler and even a genius at crossword puzzles. For fifty years, she enjoyed her second home, "The Camp", in Galveston, Texas, where many of her neighboring friends reside.
Dorothy's home was her castle, so her family is bringing her there for her final visit in lieu of the customary funeral parlor visitation. Her home visitation will be on Monday, March 4, from 4PM-7PM. Family and friends are welcome to please stop by. On Tuesday, March 5, at 2PM, will be a graveside prayer at Memorial Oaks Cemetery, 13001 Katy Freeway, 77079. Following the service, friends and family will gather at her home for the celebration of her life and the beginning of her angelhood.
Leaving her family to carry on is: her husband of 63 years, Col. Curtis L. Everett, who worships the ground she walked on; eldest son, Curtis Lamar Everett Jr. and his wife Holiday Owens Everett; daughter Yvette D. Everett; youngest son, Dell Boyett Everett and wife Kelley Bagwell Everett; grandchildren Brandon, Aubrey, Siobhan, and Kaelin Everett.
