Drago Daic, age 83, of Spring, Texas passed away on Wednesday, February 23, 2022. Drago was born in Dubrovnik, Croatia on April 18, 1938. Drago graduated from high school and attended college for a business degree. He was married to Vera Perez on August 7, 2019.
He arrived in America from post WWII refugee camps in 1952. He worked on ranches, oil fields, created a water well company, pursued a career in real estate development, and worked around the world. He had offices in Hong Kong and had projects in the Philippines and Saudi Arabia. Drago Daic had a passion for boxing, fine dining, traveling and learning new things. He had a big interest in world affairs and politics and surrounded himself with friends and family.
Drago is preceded in death by his great grandson Ryland Daic and niece Jaclyn Treadway.
He is survived by his wife Vera and children and their spouses, Gary and wife Angela, Lisa, Terri and spouse Scott, Megan, Bianca, Jeremy & wife Shannon, Jordan & wife Aimee and numerous grand and great grand and great great grandchildren as well as his sister Angelina Treadway and spouse Warren.
Serving as pallbearers are Jeremy Perez, Jordan Perez, Drago Howell, Tyler Howell, Kene Daic, Kollin Kearse, Gavin Kearse and Chase Titus.
A funeral service for Drago will be held Friday, March 4, 2022 from 2:00 PM to 3:30 PM at Brookside Funeral Home, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, TX 77039. The graveside service will occur Friday, March 4, 2022 from 3:30 PM to 4:30 PM at Brookside Memorial Park, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, TX 77039. A visitation will occur Friday, March 4, 2022 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, TX 77039.
