Eddie was born in Chicago, IL to Eddie B. Taylor Sr. and Mary F. Taylor. He graduated from Central High School in Tuscaloosa, AL. Afterwards, he served five years in the U.S. Army.
Eddie was the heartbeat of our family, the one who could turn any moment into a comedy sketch, who knew just the right joke to lift a heavy spirit, and who never let an opportunity pass without a punchline. His humor was a gift, a way of bringing people together and reminding us not to take life too seriously.
But behind every laugh was a soul of immense kindness. His generosity was quiet but constant, woven into every gesture and every word.
Eddie could tell a joke, share a funny story, or throw out a one-liner that made you laugh so hard you forgot your worries. His legacy is one of joy, compassion, and the kind of laughter that echoes long after the moment has passed.
He is preceded in death by his father, Eddie B. Taylor Sr.
He is survived by his loving daughter, Mykai Taylor, his mother, Mary Taylor and his siblings: Nicholas Summerville (Kimberly), James Terry (Bonita), Tammie Smith, Felicia Jones, Patrick Taylor, Madonna Higgs (Terran), Silas Taylor and a host of nieces and nephews who will carry forward his spirit in every shared story, every chuckle, and every act of kindness.
We will miss Eddie more than words can say—but we will honor him by living with the same open heart and mischievous grin he wore so well.
Special Thanks: We extend our deepest gratitude to Dania Kiangs, Daffany Prentice and Kevin Williams. Your love, care, and selflessness gave Eddie the gift of more time with us. Because of you, he was able to create cherished memories and continue his journey with strength and dignity. Your compassion will forever be remembered as a blessing to our family.
Celebrate
Weep not for me though I am gone
Into that gentle night
Grieve if you will, but not for long
Upon my soul's sweet flight
I am at peace, my soul's at rest
There is no need for tears.
For with your love I was so blessed
For all those many years.
There is no pain, I suffer not,
The fear now all is gone.
Put now these things out of your thoughts
In your memory I live on.
Remember not my fight for breath
Remember not the strife
Please do not dwell upon my death,
But celebrate my life.
