

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Edna Campbell-Jackson, age 69, who departed this life on October 31, 2025 in Houston, Texas.
Edna was born in Sumerton, Lime Tree Garden, St. Ann, Jamaica, to the late Esther Ricketts and Herbert Campbell. She attended Lime Tree Garden All-Age and Moneague All-Age Schools, later graduating from Ferncourt High School. At just 18 years old, Edna joined the Jamaica Constabulary Force, where she served with distinction and dedication, rising to the rank of Sergeant before her departure.
In 1989, Edna migrated to the United States, beginning a new chapter of her life. She first resided in New York, then made her home in Houston, Texas, in 1992, where she remained until her passing. A lifelong learner, Edna pursued higher education while balancing work and family. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics from Prairie View A&M University and went on to serve as an educator with the Houston Independent School District, touching countless lives until her retirement in 2020.
Edna was known for her adventurous spirit and love of travel, having journeyed to many parts of the world. She was baptized at the age of ten and lived a life grounded in her Christian faith, faithfully serving in the Presbyterian Church throughout her years.
She is lovingly survived by her two children, Orine and Sherise, and three cherished grandchildren. She also leaves behind three sisters, two brothers, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends in both Houston and Jamaica who will forever remember her warmth, wisdom, and unwavering strength.
Edna Campbell-Jackson’s life was one of service, perseverance, and love. Her legacy lives on in the hearts of those she touched, and her memory will continue to inspire all who knew her.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Brookside Funeral Home-Cypress Creek, located at 9149 Highway 6 North, Houston, TX 77095, United States. The service is scheduled for November 21, 2025, from 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm.
