Edna H. Wehring

Edna Hirsch Wehring was born August 25, 1931 in Houston, Texas, passed away on July 31, 2011 in Houston, Texas. She is predeceased by her parents; Hugo and Ottilie Matlage Hirsch and husband, Willie F. Wehring Jr. Edna is survived by her sister, Marguerite Hirsch, Children; Cindy Wheeler – Sherman and husband Steve, Gary Wehring and wife Jenny, Linda Wehring, Debbie Horton and husband Stan, grandchildren; Jeffrey and wife Shelly, Timothy, Michael Wheeler, Jason and Jessica Horton, great grand child, Wyatt M. Wheeler.

Edna was a native Houstonian and attended Reagan High School. She was married to the late Willie F. Wehring, Jr. for 45 years. Edna was a long-term community volunteer and was active with the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo and served on the Ladies Go Texas Committee. She was also active in the Boys and Girls Scouts and the SPJST Lodge 88. Edna also co-owned Wehring Custom Catering for over 30 years.

The family desires to express their heartfelt appreciation to specifically Dr. Domingo G. Gonzalez, Houston Metropolitan Cardiology and staff for their persistence and dedication in the care of our loved ones.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Immanuel Lutheran Church, 306 East 15th Street, Houston TX 77008, the American Heart Association or American Diabetes Association.

Visitation is from 4-8 p.m. Thursday, August 4th, 2011, funeral services are Friday, August 5th at 10:00 a.m. at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home.
