Edward David Kruger passed away on Tuesday August 7, 2012 in Cypress. Born on February 28, 1961 in Houston, Texas; he was preceded in death by his adored mother Sally Costigan Kruger and sister Cindy Kruger Morris.
A graduate of the University of Texas, Ed worked hard to walk-on to the Longhorn Football team and be a member of the Silver Spur organization. He was a member of the Sigma Chi Fraternity and also a Silver Spurs Service Organization. He loved the city of Austin–calling it God’s country. Ed met his wife, Kelley, while they were young and fell in love with her shortly after that. Their love was deep, and when they were apart it was a magnet that would always lead them back to one another. Ed had a beautiful heart and a passion for people. His purpose in life was to love his family and enrich their lives in any way he could. He spent countless hours fishing with his son Blair, on the racetrack with his son Blake and going to the golf course with his daughter Sara. He took pride in his family and all of their unique talents. He loved the beach, and being outside and grilling—he spent most of his leisure time cooking on the back porch of his home, shirtless in a bathing suit.
Ed is survived by his loving wife Kelley, his three children Sara, Blake and Blair, his father Glynn Richard Kruger and Mary Ellen Kruger, his brother Rick and his wife Kerry, his sister Carroll Turpin and her husband Scott, his brother Mike and his wife Diane, his brother Steve and his wife Muriel along with his in-laws Bob and Peggy Yuna, his brother-in-law Jeff Yuna and his wife Jamie and many other family members and friends.
His funeral will be held on Friday August 10, 2012 at 1:00 at Christ the Redeemer Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers the family suggests making a donation on Ed’s behalf to the Hudson Folkerts Memorial Foundation––Ed and his son Blake won the foundation's first-annual sporting clay tournament and were honored to be a part of it.
