
Edward “Ed” Arledge Plummer of Houston, Texas, was born on January 9, 1943, in Beaumont, Texas, to Georgia and Alan H. Plummer, Sr. He met his Heavenly Father on March 27, 2025, with loving family members at his side after a long and courageous battle with heart disease.
He graduated from Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas, with a BBA in Marketing.
He enjoyed a very successful career in the electrical distribution business for over fifty years in Houston before retiring in May, 2014. He was extremely knowledgeable about the industry and always willing to share freely his knowledge with others. Ed never met a stranger and was known for his positive attitude, his great sense of humor, and his strong work ethic.
A lifelong Christian, Ed was deeply devoted to his faith and his family and took immense pride in his two accomplished daughters. He found great joy in the outdoors as an avid hunter and expressed his craftsmanship through his remarkable talent for woodworking.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Willis Ann Plummer; daughter Candace P. Winslow and husband John; daughter Courtney A. Plummer; a doting grandad to granddaughter Caroline G. Winslow and grandson Grant W. Winslow; brother Alan H. Plummer, Jr. and his wife Peggy; sister-in-law Barbara E. Lanier and her husband John A. Lanier, Jr.; sister-in-law Madolyn G. Plummer and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his brother Ralph Lyn Plummer, his parents, and his mother-in-law and father-in-law.
Graveside services were conducted at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Beaumont, Texas. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or to a charity of choice.
