Edward was born in Houston, Texas on April 29, 1948. The Wenzel family moved from the Heights area of Houston to Porter, Texas on 40 acres when he was 10 years old. This is where his love of horses began.
He attended school in New Caney ISD and graduated in 1967. Eddie was drafted in 1968 to serve his country in the United States Army, then was honorably discharged. He settled in the Aldine area of Houston with his family, working at Brown & Root alongside his father Ed Sr. and his Uncle Tony. After the decline in the oilfield, he drove trucks commercially as well as owned a Hot Shot Service. Within the Northside Saddle Club he became known as Mr. Ed, Trail Boss. Mr. Ed raised and boarded many animals on his property in Aldine, which he named “Circle W Stables”, and loved spending time with his family and friends. He also had a love for boats, 4-wheelers, and motorcycles. He even named his last Harley-Davidson “Lou-Lou”, after his mother, Jacky Lou.
