

Elizabeth was born in Houston to Jennie and John Appelt on Sunday, Mothers Day, May 9th, 1920. She graduated from Jefferson Davis High School in 1937. Elizabeth married Victor S. Virgadamo in Richmond in 1938, and was married for 59 years until his death in 1997.
Elizabeth worked for many years in the Spring Branch Independent School District as a director in the cafeteria. She later worked in retail at Foley’s and Palais Royal in the children’s department before retiring.
A member of various Baptist churches and a member of Eastern Star, she found her greatest joys in crocheting, attending church, and playing with her dogs Kelly and Motley. On holidays, her family would gather on Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, and New Year’s to dine, play dominoes, and entertain the children.
She is preceded in death by her husband, four brothers and two sisters. She is survived by her sister, Mary Ann Mizushima, her two sons, Paul and wife Judy, Dennis and wife Laura, and her daughter Cheryl and husband George Rogers. She is also survived by grandchildren Kim Virgadamo Dominic, Lori Virgadamo Jewell, John Virgadamo, Autumn Virgadamo Burns, and Jason Virgadamo, as well as five great-grandchildren and five step great-grandchildren. Numerous nieces and nephews.
Viewing will be held at 7:00 - 8:00 PM, Memorial Oaks Funeral Home on Wednesday, March 22nd and services will be Thursday, March 23rd at 12:30 PM at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home 13001 Katy Fwy, Houston TX 77079.
