Elsa Valle Hartzell, a devoted daughter, wife, loving mother, cherished grandmother and great grandmother and servant of the Lord, went home to be with her Savior Jesus on July 20, 2025. Born in Peru, she lived a life of service to her family, friends and people in need. She was known for her warmth, strength, and dedication. She was the heart of our family and a source of light and strength to all who knew her.
Elsa was raised with a deep sense of purpose and compassion. She carried those qualities with her throughout her life — in her role as a wife, a mother, a nurse, a friend. Her love was unconditional, her hands were always busy caring for others.
She taught her kids and grandkids the teachings of Jesus Christ. She was a constant source of support, wisdom, and love, always quick to offer a listening ear and warm hugs. A favorite Bible verse, Proverbs 31:25, guided her every step and brought her strength through life’s challenges. “Strength and honor are her clothing; and she shall rejoice in time to come.”
At home, she was a constant source of love and stability. She raised her children and grandchildren with patience, wisdom, and kindness. Whether by late-night conversations, warm meals after long days, or simply holding your hand through hard times, she always knew exactly how to make you feel seen, heard, and loved.
Her smiles warmed our hearts, her guidance shaped our lives, and her presence was a blessing. She gave selflessly, expected little in return, and found beauty in the simplest moments.
Elsa was preceded in death by her first husband Camilo Salmon, and later by her second husband, Connett Hartzell. She navigated these losses with courage and unwavering faith, trusting in God’s plan and finding solace in the promise of eternal life.
She is survived by her children: Fernando Valle Salmon, Mariella Hartgerink, Giugliana and Renzo Moran; her stepchildren: Carolyn Baust and Bryan Hartzell, by her grandchildren: Pierre Moran, Renzo Moran, Christopher Moran, James Connett (Jake) Hartzell, Lindsey Hartzell, Brett Baust, Kevin Baust, Alex Hartgerink, Bella Valle, and Patrick Valle; and by her great-grandchildren: Aribella, Camila, Annie, Charlotte, Lucy, Savanah, Reid, Raven, Saige, and Scarlett. The family rejoices in the knowledge that she is re-united with loved ones who passed before her and that she is resting in the presence of her Lord and Savior.
Though we grieve, we take comfort in knowing her legacy of compassion, resilience, and love lives on in all of us.
She was our foundation, our inspiration, and our blessing. She is deeply missed and will forever be remembered.
