

Elsie attended school in Columbus, Texas, then graduated from Ganado High School in 1948. She continued her education, attaining a certification from Durham Business College of Houston. Elsie began her career as a secretary with Jefferson Chemical Company, which later became Texaco Chemical Company. She retired as Senior Clerk of Employee Relations in 1988, after contributing over 31 years of service.
Elsie was an active member of Saint Michael Catholic Church and the Saint Michael Sociable Seniors. She also maintained friendships with her former colleagues through the Texaco Retirees Club.
Elsie was fun-loving and vivacious. She cheered for the Houston sports teams, especially the Houston Oilers and Houston Astros. She attended the very first game at the Astrodome in 1965. Elsie enjoyed the company of family and friends, hosting Super Bowl parties, playing 42 and straight dominoes along with card games like booray, and trying her luck at the casinos. Amazing in the kitchen, she wowed friends and family with her home-cooked meals, holiday cookies and fudge.
Elsie was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Celia Cejka Perry (Jodick), Helen Cejka Pavlik (Herman) and Thelma Dusek Reed (Jim), brother Marvin Dusek (Mary), nephews Louis “Buddy” Friedel, Jody Friedel and Ben Friedel, nephew-in-law Charles Moeller and great nephew Arthur Moeller.
Elsie is survived by nieces Joann Perry Moeller, Bernice Perry Etheridge (Tom), Nancy Perry Wooten (James), Irene Friedel Oncken (Norwin) and Lesa Dusek Combs (Brent), nieces-in-law Monica Friedel and Allene Friedel, great nieces Sarah Wooten, Donna Wise (Dean), Cheryl Scholz (Larry), Carol Holder (Damon), Nancy Friedel and Kimberly Wersterfer (Keith), great niece-in-law Debbie Moeller, great nephews John Moeller (Danna), Patrick Moeller (Robin), Dan Moeller (Kari), Joe Etheridge (Amy), John Wooten, Al Oncken (Lucy), Mike Oncken (Jeannie), Chet Oncken (Wendy) and Bobby Friedel (Kim). She is also survived by first cousin Darlene Dodgion Schwake Bohot, as well as special caregiver and friend Shelly McDonald.
