Elvin Pershing Taylor

Elvin Pershing Taylor passed away on October 27, 2017. He was born on July 3, 1920 in Eaugallie, Florida to parents, Emma Jane and Louis Jefferson Taylor. Elvin was preceded in death by his parents, loving wife of 66 years Susie E. Taylor; two sons, Carl Taylor, James Taylor; three brother and two sisters. He is survived by his five children, Clara “Joann” Essex, Virginia K. Robertson and husband Larry, Ressie M. Fornols and husband Pete, Earl C. Taylor, Travis B. Taylor; fourteen grandchildren, Daniel, Manuel, Randy, Josh, Daniell, Steve, Amanda, Tina, Shilo, Jamie, Timothy, Clyde, Charlie, Cevin; sister, Jessie M. Jones; as well as numerous great grandchildren and other family members. Elvin served six years in the United States Army. He had a long career as a diesel mechanic. One of Elvin’s favorite hobbies was Bee Keeping, he enjoyed making delicious honey. The family would like to thank the V.A. and Silverado Hospice.

The family will receive friends for a visitation Wednesday, November 1, 2017 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM; and a funeral service on Thursday, November 2, 2017 at 2:00 PM in the Grand Chapel at Brookside Funeral Home; followed by a burial at Brookside Memorial Park and Cemetery, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, Texas 77039.
