Born on July 3, 1944, in Jackson, Mississippi, Emie Dell was the beloved daughter of the late Emmett and Olive Peterson and big sister to Dan Peterson. She spent her childhood crossing the globe like most children of career army officers. She lived in DeRidder, Louisiana, San Antonio, Texas, Washington, D.C., Germany, Thailand and Italy to name a few. She graduated from Cal State Fullerton in three years with a degree in Accounting. As if she had not traveled enough, she moved to Italy to get married and start her family before settling back in the United States in the mid 1970s. She spent most of her career working as a tax accountant for natural gas pipelines.
Emie Dell has two daughters: Laura (Andy) and Linda. She was also a proud grandmother to four grandchildren: Olivia (Chase), Madeline (Joe), Enzo and Jaxon and one great-grandson: Canon.
Known as Emie Dell, Dell or Emie at different points of her life, she was a quiet analytical person who loved her family. She loved numbers and especially number puzzles. She also loved crafting, especially sewing, quilting, knitting and crocheting.
The family would like to thank all of the people who gave Emie Dell so much comfort at the end of her life including her friends at Eagle's Trace, the home health caregivers and Maria, her housekeeper of 20 years.
A celebration of life service will be held on Sunday, June 8 at 10:00 a.m. at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home, 13001 Katy Freeway, Houston, Texas 77077. Donations may be made to the American Heart Association.
