

Nini was born in Tripoli, Libya, North Africa on August 26, 1929, to Ada and Peppino Arbib. After growing up in Tripoli and Rome, Italy, she went on to work at the United States Embassy in Tripoli, before eventually moving to the United States with family and settling in Houston, TX. After working as a translator in local hospitals, Nini found her true passion working as an Italian teacher for many years.
Nini enjoyed the little things in life. Aside from teaching, she loved spending time with her family. She was especially close with her two sisters, Norma and Susy, and their families who lived close by. Nini was eagerly involved in her nieces’ and nephews’ lives and leaves a legacy of grace and happiness.
Nini was preceded in death by her sister, Lady Susy Hendrix, and her niece, Elisa Hendrix McLennan. Her survivors include her sister, Norma Jones; her niece, Jacqueline Jones Seddon, her nephews, Ryan McLennan, Dean McLennan, Brandon Stevenson; and numerous other relatives.
Funeral services will be held graveside at Forest Park Westheimer Cemetery, 12800 Westheimer Road on Wednesday, September 22, 2021. Following the graveside services, a reception in Nini’s honor will be held at Antonio’s Italian Restaurant, 2920 Hillcroft Road, Houston, TX 77057.
