Ethel C. Lee

Ethel C. Lee was born June 16, 1934 in Houston, Texas. She was the sixth child of ten siblings, born to the late Ferdinand Ellis and Edna Breaux-Ellis.On September 24, 1953, she married Delenzy Woodard Egland and two children Shamarion and Delenzy Jr. were born to that union.

She was baptized at an early age at Third Ward Church of Christ, under the leadership of the late Bro. Walter Weather. Later, she and her family became members of Highland Height Church of Christ, under the leadership of the late Bro. D. A. Stroud. A new congregation was established in the early seventies at Highland Gardens Church of Christ where the late Willis Blackshear was Minister.

In her early years, Ethel was employed atPalais Royalas an elevator operator and professional gift wrapper. She also owned her own Day Care Center. Ethel was a soft spoken, humble and sweet lady who always gavewords of encouragement to others.Ethel enjoyed bakingandcooking for her family and friends.She loved thefun and laughter at family gathering and was alwaysthere to lend a helping hand making sure everyone had what they needed. She was a faithful Christian woman and wanted everyone to know Jesus. She enjoyedseeing her large family attendsFifth Sunday Services with family and friends in attendance. She loved singing and working for the Lord.

On May 21, 1976, Ethel remarried to Jim Andrew Lee, Sr. They were both strong faithful hard working member of Highland Gardens Church of Christ. To this union nine step childrenwere added to the family.Donald Ray; Sammie Eugene; Farley Justice; Doris Frances; Jim Jr.; Robert Allen; Shellie Arthur; Gwendolyn Elaine; and Alvin Gene

Ethel departed this earthly life on Friday, March 13, 2020. She is preceded in death by her parents, Ferdinand Ellis Sr. and Edna Breaux-Ellis, her five deceased brothers Ferdinand Ellis Jr., Joseph Ellis, Flenoyd Ellis, Henry Ellis, and Roy Ellis, sisters MaryLopes, and Hazel Ravin, nephews Larry Lopes, and William Keith Ellis. Her first husband Delenzy Woodard Egland Sr., and second husband Jim Andrew Lee Sr. Step children, Donald Ray, Farley Justice, Doris Frances, Jim Jr., and Shellie Arthur. Son-in-law KeithBaldwin and daughter-in-law Rhonda Lynn Egland. Grandson Delenzy Leon Egland.

She leaves to cherish her memories, her loving children, daughter, Shamarion Egland-Baldwin (Keith Baldwin); son, Delenzy Woodard Egland Jr. (Rhonda L.Egland); step children, Sammie Lee (Gail); Robert Lee; Gwendolyn E. Lee; and Alvin G. Lee; brothers, John Ellis, and Nathaniel Ellis; grandchildren,Ceotis G. Egland (Rhonda J. Egland); Ashley Egland; Brittany Egland; Great grandchildren, Cierah Egland; Ceotis M. Egland;Luciana K. Seahorn(Jalen D. Seahorn);Rociana A. Berry; and Great Great granddaughter, Jaliyah A. Seahorn; and a host of beloved cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
