

Eunice Alvarez de Linares, age 85, loving mother of two, and endearing grandmother to Andres Linares and Diego Linares, passed away peacefully at her home in Spring, Texas. Eunice was born on July 13th, 1936, in Remedios, Antioquia in Colombia to Antonio Alvarez and Julieta Villegas. Eunice was a classy, elegant, poised, and affectionately known as “Mami”. She spent most of her life in Bogotá, Colombia as an entrepreneur and businesswoman in the retail sector. She was also the lady of the house taking care of her family and truly being a second mom to her grandsons.
Eunice had a love for Colombian food, classical music, and a life-long deep passion for the arts. A must have at the Linares’ home is her favorite simple yet tasty arepas with cheese and “cafecito” before bedtime. Eunice was delighted in painting with several of her vibrant original paintings anchored on the walls of the Linares’ home. She was a social lady and those around her were drawn to her infectious and strong spirit combined with her great sense of humor. Eunice was a gracious wife, mother, and grandmother. She was an accomplished woman and touched the lives of many throughout her life.
We know that we cannot have her, but we are comforted knowing the angels have finally got her back. She will now reunite with her beloved husband, Otoniel Linares in heaven. We say goodbye to a supportive and loyal mother and a strong grandmother.
Eunice Alvarez de Linares is survived by her daughter, Stella Linares; son, Cesar Linares and his wife, Mayela Roldan; grandson, Andres Linares, and his wife, Yenny Linares; grandson, Diego Linares and his wife, Uyen Tieu Linares; granddaughters, Ivonne Ruiz and Wanda Ruiz great grandchildren, Olivia Hoang, Ethan Hoang, Luna Linares, Santiago Linares, and Sofia Linares.

Eunice nació el 13 de julio de 1936 en Remedios, Antioquia - Colombia. Hija de Antonio Álvarez y Julieta Villegas, Eunice era una elegante, equilibrada y afectuosa mujer conocida como "Mami". Pasó la mayor parte de su vida en Bogotá, Colombia como empresaria en el sector minorista. También era la dama de la casa cuidando de su familia y siendo realmente una segunda madre para sus nietos.
Eunice tenía un gran amor por la comida colombiana, la música clásica y una profunda pasión por las artes. En la casa de los Linares era costumbre comer sus arepas favoritas, simples pero sabrosas, con queso y "cafecito" antes de acostarse. A Eunice le encantaba pintar. Varias de sus vibrantes pinturas originales están actualmente colgadas en las paredes de la casa de los Linares. Era una dama social y los que la rodeaban se sentían atraídos por su espíritu contagioso y fuerte combinado con su gran sentido del humor. Eunice era una esposa, madre y abuela amable. Ella era una mujer consumada y tocó las vidas de muchos a lo largo de su vida.
Sabemos que no podemos tenerla, pero nos consuela saber que los ángeles finalmente la han llamado. Ahora se ha reunido con su amado esposo, Otoniel Linares en el cielo. Nos despedimos de una madre solidaria y leal y de una abuela fuerte.
A Eunice Álvarez de Linares le sobreviven su hija, Stella Linares; hijo, César Linares y su esposa, Mayela Roldán; nieto, Andrés Linares, y su esposa, Yenny Linares; nieto, Diego Linares y su esposa, Uyen Tieu Linares; nietas, Ivonne Ruiz and Wanda Ruiz; bisnietos, Olivia Hoang, Ethan Hoang, Luna Linares, Santiago Linares y Sofia Linares.
