Mema, as she was known to most, was a devoted military wife and traveled across the United States and abroad. Mema loved to cook and bake and was a provider to many beyond her immediate family. She always wore a smile and made everyone feel loved. In recent years she enjoyed playing bingo and visiting with her family in Comfort, Texas.
Her tremendous faith in God was unwavering and she is rejoicing forever in Heaven.
She is survived by one son, Lee Patrick Walters (Linda), and three daughters; Meri Montgomery, Patricia Walters-Salas and Linda Kinney (Wally); ten grandchildren – Gerald Patrick Walters, Jennifer Evans (Tim), Jeff Walters (Melinda), Elisabeth Robins (John), Eric Wilke (Jenny), Rachael Owens (Ian), Maria Salas (Marcelo), Emily Stroup (Scott) and Sara Ridley (Brent); 15 great-grandchildren and 9 great-great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband Joe Henry Walters, sisters; Marie Rankin and Lucy Adcock and one grandson Tres Mendez.
A visitation for Eva will be held Sunday, September 12, 2021 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at American Heritage Funeral Home, 10710 Veterans Memorial Drive, Houston, TX 77038, followed by a funeral service from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM.
