Evelyn Ray Price, age 87, passed away peacefully on Jan. 25, 2012. Evelyn was born on Jan. 13, 1925, in Whitakers, NC. She graduated from Meredith College in Raleigh, NC. Evelyn spent many years as a social worker, in specific; child welfare in North Carolina and New Jersey. She was a devout member of the Memorial Drive Methodist Church. Evelyn was preceded in death by her father, Dr. Joseph Ray and mother, Mae Standin Ray who was a Post Master. Evelyn is survived by her loving husband, Walter James Price; sons, James David Price, Robert Alan Price and William Gregory Price; grandchildren, Ryan Price, Kyle Price, Andie Price and Asher Price. If any donations are to be made on behalf of Evelyn Price; the family would appreciate them made to the Salvation Army. A visitation will be held at Forest Park Westheimer on Monday, 1/30 from 5-8 pm with a funeral service on Tuesday, 1/31 at 10 am in the main Chapel.
