Mrs. Evelyn Snider Thompson

Evelyn Snider Thompson, born February 28, 1932, passed away on November 23, 2015. She was born in Bremond, Texas to Joseph and Sophie Snider. Evelyn was a longstanding and devoted member of St. Cecilia Catholic Church, and dedicated much of her kindness and volunteer time to Brookwood Community. She also belonged to The Texas Society of Professional Engineer’s Women’s Auxillary. Evelyn enjoyed cooking, and was a particularly avid Aggie football fan for over 38 years. But perhaps Evelyn’s greatest joy and passion was time with her family and she will be missed as a loving and nurturing mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Evelyn is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Harvey Dale Thompson; her parents, Joseph and Sophie Snider; her sister, Anna Bilsky (husband, Florian); and her brother, Raymond Snider (wife, Teresa). She is survived by her children, Gayle Schaefer, Randy Thompson and wife Gigi, and Jody Thompson and wife Betty; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Visitation will take place on Friday, November 27, 2015 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home. The Funeral Mass will take place on Saturday, November 28, 2015 at 11 a.m. at St. Cecilia Catholic Church, located at 11720 Joan of Arc Drive, Houston, Texas, 77024, with interment to immediately follow at Memorial Oaks Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Evelyn’s memory may be made to Brookwood Community or to The American Heart Association.
