

Faye Huckabee, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away on October 25, 2025, at the age of 99. Born on December 22, 1925, in Mexia, Texas, Faye grew up in Teague, Texas, before moving to Houston as a teenager, where she resided for the remainder of her life.
Faye was married to Bill Huckabee on June 6, 1946, and together they had two children, Billy and Donna. A beloved figure within her community, Faye attended Bethany Baptist Church in Houston, where she taught Sunday school and was a member of the WMU - Ladies' Auxiliary. She also participated in activities at Uvalde Baptist Church, the Leon Z Grayson Community Center in Cloverleaf, and Flukinger Community Center in Channelview, and attended Woodforest Baptist Church, where she would take Michele and Arnold to Vacation Bible School.
Known affectionately as Mamaw, Faye was thoughtful and devoted to her family. She always ensured they knew they had a place to live if needed and provided support in any way she could. A wonderful cook, she made sure her family was well-fed and cared for. She had a deep love for her grandchildren, Michele and Arnold.
Faye had a passion for line dancing and enjoyed trips and jamborees, bringing joy and laughter to those around her. Her legacy of kindness and love will be remembered by all who knew her.
Faye is preceded in death by her mother, Elizabeth Buchanan; father, Pat West; husband, Bill Huckabee; son, Billy Huckabee; sister, Dollie Ward; and grandson, Arnold Baber. She is survived by her daughter, Donna Huckabee Baber; granddaughter, Michele Baber Herrera and husband John Wayne; and daughter-in-law, Janet Huckabee.
The visitation will be held on November 8, 2025, from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm at the Chapel of Chimes, Brookside Funeral Home, located at 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, TX 77039, with a funeral service to follow from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm. A graveside service will take place from 3:00 pm to 3:30 pm in the Garden of Peace at Brookside Memorial Park.
Faye Huckabee will be dearly missed and forever remembered for her compassion and kind spirit.
