

Brother Floyd Brown was born on August 11, 1935 to Jake and Alberta Brown in Keithville Louisiana. Floyd was the first child of two children born to this union.
Floyd was lovingly raised by Ora Hines, his father’s sister and her husband Solomon Hines in Spring Ridge Louisiana. Floyd accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior at a early age and was baptized at Crossroad Baptist Church in Keithville Louisiana.
Floyd Brown attended Walnut Hill School in Shreveport Louisiana, there he developed a lifelong love of Baseball. Floyd worked as a Longshoreman for over 20+ years with the Port of Houston Ship Channel and was a proud member of ILA/WGMA Union Local 0028.
Deacon Floyd Brown was happily married to Sister Lula Mae Brown. This union was blessed with five daughters and one son. Deacon and Sister Brown were among the founders of Green Grove M.B. Church 50 years ago. Deacon Brown was a devoted Church Member and willingly donated his time as needed.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lula Mae Brown, two daughters-Doris Jackson and Shirley Richardson and his one and only son Floyd “Wayne” Brown.
He leaves to forever cherish her memories: One Sister Blanche Nelson of Houston Texas, Three Daughters Janice Cormier, Bettye Flowers and Carolyn Brown; One Daughter-in-Law, Desolyn Foy; Fourteen Grandchildren, Fourteen Great Grandchildren and Three Great, Great Grandchildren. Although He Loved and Cherished all his Grandchildren, Granddaughter Gina Harris and her Daughter Gia, brought a special sunshine to his Life.
A visitation for Floyd will be held Saturday, February 12, 2022 from 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM at Paradise Funeral Home, 10401 West Montgomery, Houston, TX 77088. A funeral service will occur Saturday, February 12, 2022 from 2:30 PM to 3:30 PM, 10401 West Montgomery, Houston, TX 77088. A committal service will occur Saturday, February 12, 2022 from 3:45 PM to 4:00 PM at Paradise Cemetery North, 10401 West Montgomery, Houston, TX 77088.
