Forrest Wayne Vest

Forrest Wayne Vest, 59, of Cypress, Texas passed away on August 7, 2012 losing his battle of 2 ½ years with colon cancer. He was born on October 19, 1952 in Lubbock, Texas to Troy Lee and Julia Laird Vest. He graduated from Alief High School in 1977. Forrest was a Structural Designer in the oil and gas industry around Houston for 40 years. Forrest was currently employed by Fluor in Sugar Land, Texas. Forrest loved his family and career and made many good friends along his life in and out of work. He was the life of the party, he always had a good time and made an impression in every path he crossed. He will be missed by his family and so many of his co-workers and friends. A multitude of thanks to his chemotherapy nurse Becky Krenik who became very close to Forrest during his treatments and she displayed a friendship and bond that will be very much missed. The family wishes to give an additional thank you to all of the doctors who treated Forrest through his battle with cancer at North Cypress Medical Center. We thank you for your compassion. Also a special out pour of thanks to all of his nurses who cared for him through the Grace Care Hospice Center on Huffmeister Road in Houston, Texas. The family would like to express their appreciation for the compassionate care they all extended to Forrest while in their care. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. His mother preceded him in death on January 2012. He is survived by his wife and best friend of 21 years, Tracy Vest of Cypress, Texas; sons, Dustin Vest and wife Erica of Houston, Chase Vest and wife Melissa of Houston, Logan Vest of Houston, and Sean Forrey of Florida; daughter, Haley Vest of Missouri; father, Troy Vest of Lewisville, Texas; grandchildren, Matthew, Noah, Madison, and Abigail; brother, Mac Vest of Lewisville, Texas. In lieu of flowers the family asks for donations to the Houston Hospice, 1905 Holcombe Blvd. Houston, Texas 77030. A Memorial service will be held on Friday August 10, 2012 at 3:00 pm in the Memorial Oaks Funeral Home Chapel, 13001 Katy Freeway Houston, Texas 77079.
