

Francis “Frank” Anthony Steele, 65, passed away to be with our Lord Jesus February 7, 2012, in Houston, TX. He was born July 14, 1946 in Jamaica Queens, New York son of Franklyn and Mary Steele and has lived in Houston, TX for the past 39 years. He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years Joan Steele and 4 devoted daughters; Melanie Baker and husband Andy, Christine McSherry and husband Kris, Corinne Pieper and husband Dale, Jessica Alexander and husband Stephen and 7 grandchildren; Sabrina, Brooklyn, David, Kylie, Ashlyn, Lacey and Daleigh. He is also survived by his sisters, Bernice Doyle and Mary Ellen Valentino and husband Jimmy, Father and Mother in Law, Daniel and Winifred Cullinan, Sister in Law, Mary Moore and numerous nieces and nephews.
Frank was raised in Smithtown, New York. Shortly after graduating high school, he joined the United States Air Force and served his country during the Vietnam era. During which he was a jet engine mechanic and flew on numerous rescue missions. He married his wife Joan Cullinan on March, 28, 1970. Their first residence was in Schenectady, New York and they moved to Houston, TX in 1973. While living in Houston, he obtained his Associate’s Degree in Business from North Harris County College.
Frank’s 40 plus years in the oil industry began at Ametek Texas Flange. Frank also worked for Gulf Forge Company, and owned his own company, Steele Manufacturing Inc. which he sold in 2010 to Resource Metals. For the last two years he was the Manufacturing Manager for the machine shop at Resource Metals. He had a relentless commitment to his job and the people he worked with.
Frank was a devoted father who lived to take care of his family including his mother and father. He was selfless in everything he did and with everyone he met.
A visitation will be held Thursday, February 9, 2012, 6-9 pm at Brookside Funeral Home – Cypress Creek, 9149 Highway 6 North, Houston, TX 77095. Funeral Service will be held at the same location Friday, February 10, 2012 at 10 am. A graveside service will follow at Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Drive, Houston, TX 77038.
