Francisco Lamas

Francisco (Pancho) Lamas, 73 of Houston, Texas was born November 20, 1949, in Matamoros, Mexico to Adan Bernardo and Maria (Rios) Lamas and sadly passed on July 26, 2023. He was a huge sports fan always watching the Houston Astros, the Houston Texans, and even the Dallas Cowboys. He was a family man who loved being together willing to help others and would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it. He had a great sense of humor and was a jokester at heart. He was a friend to everyone and enjoyed singing and dancing. He proudly served in the United States Marine Corps from 1968 to 1970. He was a welder by trade and worked for Brown & Root. He later retired from the United State Postal Service in 2008.

Pancho is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Maria Leticia (Esparza) Lamas and 3 sons; Frank Lamas, Jr. and wife, Erica; Eduardo Lamas and wife, Yesenia; David Lamas and wife, Adriana. He was a proud grandfather to 10 grandchildren, Jacob, Eric, Tommy, Alexia, James, Erica, Andrew, Briana, David Jr., and Isaac. He was also a loving great-grandfather to 3 great-grandchildren, Kehlani, Ramiro, and Adalida with 2 more arriving soon. He is also survived by his 2 brothers Encarnacion (Chon) Lamas and wife, Julia; Juan Lamas and wife, Mary, and 2 sisters Cruz Lopez and Manuela Vela along with numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Guadalupe Lamas.

Visitation will be held Thursday evening beginning at 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm with a rosary being recited at 6:00 pm. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Friday, August 4, 2023, at Funeraria Del Angel Crespo with military honors. The Burial will then proceed to Houston National Cemetery at 1:00 pm followed by a celebration of life at the American legion post 499 located at 1601 16th Street, Galena Park, Texas 77547.

A visitation for Francisco will be held Thursday, August 3, 2023 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Funeraria Del Angel Crespo, 4136 BROADWAY ST, HOUSTON, TX 77087. A holy rosary will occur Thursday, August 3, 2023 at 6:00 PM. A funeral service will occur Friday, August 4, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, 4136 BROADWAY ST, HOUSTON, TX 77087. A committal will occur Friday, August 4, 2023 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Dr, Houston, TX 77038.
