Francisco Javier Torres Jr.

Born in Monterrey, Mexico on April 4, 1957, to Francisco and Socorro Torres, Frank moved with his family to Houston, Texas during childhood. He graduated from Jeff Davis High School, where he met the love of his life, Sylvia Ann Torres. The two were married on July 22, 1978, and shared 47 beautiful years together.

A devoted husband, proud father, and doting grandfather, Frank cherished every moment spent with his loved ones. Known far and wide for his legendary BBQ brisket, Frank’s skill on the grill was matched only by his generosity and willingness to help anyone in need. A skilled diesel mechanic with Cemex USA, he was also the go-to handyman and personal mechanic for family and friends—especially his daughters, whom he supported in every way possible.

Frank found joy in the simple pleasures of life: fishing, relaxing at his ranch, and cheering on his favorite baseball and football teams. These moments weren’t just hobbies—they were opportunities to create cherished memories with those he loved most. His gatherings were always filled with good food, laughter, and heartfelt conversations.

Frank was known for his sense of humor, bold personality, and the humorous style that made everyone smile. His nieces and nephews held a special place in his heart, especially his nephews, whom he treated as the sons he never had.

Frank is preceded in death by his parents, Francisco and Socorro Torres, and siblings Gloria and Martin Torres Sr. He is survived by his loving wife, Sylvia Ann Torres; daughters Leticia Ann Torres, Yvonne Marie Blount, and Vanessa Inez Torres; and grandchildren Kiaira Renee Torres-Blount, Kianna Amaya Blount, David Blount Jr., and Aliya Priscilla Henriquez.

He is also survived by his siblings Beatrice Saenz (Vincent), Norma Gonzales, and Gerardo “Jerry” Torres (Araceli), as well as numerous beloved nieces and nephews.

Frank’s legacy lives on through the many lives he touched with his warmth, humor, and unwavering love. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

A visitation for Francisco will be held Monday, July 28, 2025 from 1:00 pm to 10:00 pm at Funeraria Del Angel Crespo, 2516 Navigation Blvd., Houston, TX 77003. A rosary service will occur Monday, July 28, 2025 at 7:00 pm, 2516 Navigation Blvd., Houston, TX 77003. A visitation will occur Tuesday, July 29, 2025 from 9:30 am to 10:00 am at St Patrick Catholic Church, 4918 Cochran St, Houston, TX 77009. A funeral mass will occur Tuesday, July 29, 2025 at 10:00 AM at St Patrick Catholic Church, 4918 Cochran St, Houston, TX 77009. A committal service will follow Tuesday, July 29, 2025 at 12:00 PM at Forest Park Lawndale, 6900 Lawndale Street, Houston, TX 77023.
