Fred Charles Blanchard, of Coldspring, Texas passed away on October 18, 2013, preceding his wife, Bernice of 57 years, a son George, a daughter, Denice, three sisters and one brother. He was born March 5, 1932 in Fort Sam Houston, San Antonio, Texas. Survivors are grandson Jackson (Jake) Blanchard, granddaughters Leigh Anne Smith, Jennifer Soldato, Jillayne Blanchard, Randee Granberry, Baylee Granberry, seven great-grandchildren, one sister Betty Ernst, two brother-in-law’s Rollie and Gene, one sister-in-law Elouise and many nieces and nephews. Fred served four years in the Army 1948-1952. He was a one year Veteran in Korea. He loved hunting, fishing and also loved dancing. He was a contractor in Houston for 30 years (A&B Construction Company). Fred retired in 1992 and built the home where he lived for 21 years.
Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, October 23, 2013 at 12:30 pm in the Chapel at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home, 13001 Katy Freeway, Houston, Texas 77079, with visitation an hour prior.
