

Fred “Bob” Burban passed away August 15, 2013 in Katy, TX. Born October 27, 1922 in Detroit, Michigan, the son of Fred T. and Celia Silven Burban. He graduated from Chadsey High School in 1941. During World War II, he enlisted in the US Navy and served overseas in the Pacific theater on the USS Wyoming and USS Mount Olympus. After the Navy, he worked in the auto repair and dealership business until 1968, then moved to Fayetteville, AR. Bob and his wife Lynn were in the restaurant business and spent 21 years in the Fayetteville and Beaver Lake area before moving to the Houston area in 1989. He was a member of Second Baptist Church in Katy. He was preceded in death by his wife of 40 years, Lynette Robbins Burban, his parents, two brothers, Daniel and Richard Burban.
Survivors include, two sons, Fred Burban and his wife Linda of Missouri City, TX, Robert Burban and his wife Jenny of Sarasota, FL, three daughters, Georgia Hestand Sloan and her husband Robert of Fulshear, TX, Nancy Burban of Atlanta, GA and Randey Hardick, of Henderson, NV, nine grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, nephews and nieces and loving companion Gloria Applewhite of Katy, TX.
Visitation will be held Monday, August 19, 2013 between 2pm- 3pm at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home, 13001 Katy Fwy, Houston, TX 77079, followed by services.
A final visitation will be at Ralph Robinson and Son Funeral Home, 807 S. Cherry St, Pine Bluff, AR August 21, 2013, between10.00 -11.00 am, followed by gravesite service at 11.30 am at Memorial Park Cemetery, 6797 Dollarway Road, Whitehall, AR.
