Freddie went home to be with the Lord on January 18, 2025. Born January 21, 1933, in Mandeville, Jamaica to the late Hugh Alexandra Jones (DOB: 12/3/1907) and Edna Marrett Swaby (DOB: 04/03/1911). He married Brenda A. Codner-Jones in 1977 in New York. Frederick is preceded in death by his mother, father and a son. Frederick is survived by a loving family including his wife, Brenda Codner-Jones, 1 son, 3 daughters, 4 brothers, 6 sisters, several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, many cousins, and other relatives in the US, Canada, and Jamaica.
Frederick loved being with family and friends and always made the effort to attend all events whenever possible. His specialty dishes were jerk chicken and rice and peas, which he brought to holiday gatherings and family events. I guarantee, you've never had better jerk chicken or rice and peas than Freddie's. His humor, laugh, and presence lit up every room. You could always count on Freddie to make "dad-jokes" and come up with witty rebuttals no matter the situation.
