

Frederick Henry Whittington, 83, of Humble, Texas passed away on Monday, March 4, 2024. Frederick, also popularly known as Fred, was born in Oneonta, Alabama on October 26, 1940 to parents, Lula Mae (Bennett) Whittington and Odus Franklin Whittington.
After graduating from high school, Fred proudly served in the U.S. Army before beginning his career as a boilermaker.
Fred later met Ann D. Mills and after a short courtship, they were married in Houston, Texas on March 22, 1969. The two made their home in Huffman, Texas. Fred was a devoted husband and friend to many. He was a man of great faith and was dedicated to both God and his church. He was a faithful member of Lake Houston Methodist Church. He felt the church’s congregation to be more like his “family”. All who came to know Fred will miss him dearly.
He is preceded in death by his father, Odus Franklin Whittington; mother, Lula Mae (Bennett) Whittington; brothers, Jerry Whittington, Charles Thomas (Tommy) Whittington, and Frankie Whittington; sisters, Eloise Whittington Francis, and Mary Jean Whittington Freeman.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife, Ann D. Whittington; beloved sister’s Francine Whittington Tyler of Florida and Elizabeth Whittington Hoadley of Colorado; brother-in-law, Paul Mills of Nevada and wife Tina; Nieces, Kathy Anderson of Florida, Jennifer Uzoni of California, Deborah Miller of Alabama; sisters-in-law’s, Linda Whittington of California (Tommy's wife), Bernice Whittington of Alabama (Frankie's wife), Rebecca Whittington (Jerry's Wife) as well as his church family at Lake Houston Methodist Church.
A Memorial Service for Fred will be held Monday, March 11, 2024 at 11:30 AM at Lake Houston Methodist Church, 23606 FM 2100, Huffman, TX 77336.
