

Fritz C. Baumgarten entered into eternal rest on June 24th, 2013. He was born in Schulenburg, Texas on April 25th, 1923; he is preceded in death by his father Fritz C. Baumgarten and his mother Katie B. Storey. In his passing he is also preceded by his first wife Ruth F. Click Baumgarten, and second wife Esther C. Baumgarten. He is survived by his loving children, daughter Connie Sue Holley, son Keith Baumgarten and wife Lori, son Tracy Baumgarten, granddaughters Jennifer Holley and husband Eric, Dr. Janelle Baumgarten and fiancé, Ross Johnson and Kristin Baumgarten and Thomas Denson, a brother Larry Baumgarten and wife Faye of El Paso. Companion, Shirley Williams. Growing up in Schulenburg he was an altar boy at St. Rose Lima Catholic Church. Fritz, a devout Catholic, was a member of the St. Ambrose Catholic Church Community for many years. He was a Charter member of the Men’s Club, Golden Youth member, Parish Council member, Bazaar Committee member and served as an Usher. His donations, acts of kindness, and support of various ministries will remain his legacy... Some of his fondest memories were fishing, hunting, camping and spending all his time with his family in the outdoors over the years. After 33 years of dedicated service he retired from Shell Oil Company in 1986. In the twilight of his life, his passion was traveling and taking numerous trips throughout the country... He enjoyed life to the fullest and lived each day as though it was his last. His personality and sense of humor brought smiles and happiness to many faces throughout his life. His loss will be deeply felt by the many who knew him, and all who loved him!
With great gratitude the family wants to thank the Methodist Medical Center Hospital for the doctors, colleagues, nurses, and entire staff for the love and devotion that they have shown for our Father. We commend their work and efforts to try to get our Dad back to the quality of life which he wanted to live. God bless you all for all you did for our Dad.

A Visitation will be held at Pat H. Foley & Co Funeral Directors 1200 w 34th Houston TX on Sunday June 30th beginning at 3:00 pm with a Holy Rosary at 5:00 pm. Funeral Mass will be held Monday July 1 at 10:00 am St Ambrose Catholic Church Interment will follow at Memorial Oaks Cemetery.
