Gang Yat Wong, 93, passed away on February 09, 2015 in Houston, Texas. He was born in HoiPing, Guangdong China in 1921. He immigrated to the United States together with his family in 1970. Gang Yat was a business-man in China. Before his retirement he worked as a restaurant chef.
Gang Yat is survived by his wife Yue Fong Wong of 70 years and his six children; son Paul Wong and daughter-in-law Lily Woo, grandson Carl, granddaughter, Lauren; son Patrick and daughter-in-law Felisa Mira, grandson Mike, granddaughters Myra, Marie, Michelle; daughter Lisa and son-in-law James Chee, grandsons David, Michael; daughter Rose, granddaughter Sandra Poon; son Peter; daughter Vickie, granddaughters Patty, Katherine Yau. He loved to read particularly Antiques related books. He was house-bound due to his health the last few years; he read the Chinese News Paper and one of his favorite books called “300 Tang Poetries” almost every day to keep his mind sharp as well as keeping his memory of his culture alive. He also loved music, in which, he played a Chinese musical instrument Erhu well. Most of all, he loved being around his 11 grandchildren.
