Scott was born in Hanson, Oklahoma on May 24, 1926. He was a veteran of the US Army-Air Corps, serving on Guam 1943 to 1945 as air engineer and a part of the 20th Army Air Corp Division. He and Mary met in Houston on a blind date, and he proposed to her on their second date. It took some time but he convinced her to marry him, which she did on August 18, 1948. Scott worked for National Lead Industries in Atlanta and Houston, becoming Plant Manager of the Houston foundry before retiring. He worked for 50 years as Minister of Music in various churches, directing adult, youth and children’s choirs, and helping teach many the joy of singing praise to his Savior. He retired as Minister of Music of Langwood Baptist Church after 35 years directing the Music and Education programs there. He was a deacon at Langwood as well, and with his wife Mary, coordinated activities for the Golden Sunshine group. He taught Sunday School for many years and loved nothing better than sharing his love for Jesus with others. Scott’s life touched many lives, and his greatest desire is that those he touched would continue to share God’s love and saving grace with others, that the glory would be to God, and God alone.
