

Gay “Gayma” Lucille Floyd Harrell was born October 30, 1936 in Borger, TX. Gay was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses May 4, 1957 and married Ward Harrell in 1972 and then moved to Houston in 1974.
Gay is survived by: daughter, Carla Lane, and husband, Richard Ray Lane Jr. of Conroe, TX; son, Michael and Sandy Harrell of Midlothian, TX; grandsons: Nicholas and Sherry Mills of Austin, TX, Taylor and Lauren Mills of Houston, TX, Tony Harrell-MacNeil and Emily Janz of Houston, TX, Steven Ray Lane and Stephanie of Austin, TX; granddaughters: Shannon Clark of Corpus Christi, TX, Erin and Brandon Granillo of Phoenix, AZ, Lindsey Marie Hendrix and Mark Hendrix of Corpus Christi, TX; great grandsons: Dominick Mills and Tanner Hendrix; great- granddaughters: Valentina Mills and Kyelynn Mills. Also survived by sisters: Hope and Gary Gidden and Joy and Jr Martinez all of Borger, TX., as well as, nieces and nephews and many, many friends. Preceded in death by parents Carl and Helen Floyd, sister Faith Floyd and husband Ward Harrell.
Gay always had a passion for color and design. When she was 11 years old she was always drawing and designing clothes. Her dream was to become an artist and fashion designer. She took many art classes and became proficient at the craft. Since then she has been able to travel and learn from many accomplished painters. She learned to paint landscapes, florals & seascapes, and many of God’s creations. She was most accomplished and talented in painting facial portraits, including her father, daughter, grandson, and her own friends.
Gay’s other love was to talk about the Bible and teach people about her creator Jehovah God and his son Christ Jesus. She has also had the privilege of entertaining her spiritual brothers and sisters from Russia. Gay was very hospitable and loved entertaining her friends and family.
Gay started Abilities Unlimited Inc., a staffing agency, in 1976 with her husband, Ward. She was a dedicated businesswoman who earned many accolades from the city of Houston and other organizations. She was skilled in the workings of the agency and made a lasting reputation for herself in the Houston business community.
Gay loved her family very much. She was selfless and kind and will be missed dearly by many.
