

He was born in Caldwell, Texas on January 3, 1941 to parents Ynez and Demetria Vasquez.
Victor, as he is known by all, was raised in Somerville, Texas and graduated from Somerville High School, where he excelled in academics & sports. A true son of Somerville, most notably as a star half back on the football team, leading his basketball team at point guard, and track accolades. His passion for sports remained throughout his lifetime as a diehard fan of Houston sports & knack to play pickup basketball at any given moment in his community, with his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, even in his twilight years. He was a well-known fanatic of the Houston Rockets, Oilers/Texans, Aggies, U of H Cougars and Astros.
In 1962, after graduating from the Commonwealth College of Sciences in Houston, Texas, he went on to a distinguished career in Medical Laboratory & Radiology. During his 60 year career in medicine, he built strong bonds and lifelong friendships with several of his patients & colleagues that he deeply treasured.
He was married to the love of his life, Maria Santos “Sandra” Rodriguez, on April 25, 1965 and enjoyed a cherished marriage of 60 years with many precious memories along the way with his family. He held a deep connection with each and every one of his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Victor & Sandra were avid anglers and enjoyed boating & fishing in his hometown Lake Somerville where they spent countless memories on the water and camping. They settled in Missouri City, Texas to lovingly raise their daughters and son.
As a member of Holy Family Catholic Church, Victor held dear his tenure as a member of the Guadalupanos for over 40 years and served a term as President. Within that time, Victor & Maria helped build the church youth group with their strong guidance, support, and religious education that also resulted in many lifelong family friendships.
He is preceded in death by his parents Ynez & Demetria Vasquez and brothers Leandro Vasquez & Simon Vasquez
He is survived by his wife Maria Santos Rodriguez Vasquez
Children - Teresa and Richard Ramirez, Angela Molina, Edward and Jema Vasquez, and Anita Vasquez
Grandchildren - Joseph Jimenez and Grace Flamenco, Rudy Ramirez, Andrew and Any Ramirez, Jonathan and Michelle Molina, Makayla Ramirez, Gabriel and Leslie Molina, Edward Ynez Vasquez, Josiah Vasquez; Ariel, Alayna, and Elijah Vasquez
Great Grandchildren - Jazmine Jimenez; Marley, Denver, Braden, Sebastian and Sage Ramirez; Uri and Enzo Molina
