Gertrude Bernice Wierzbicki, 86, joined the Lord on January 7, 2020. She was born on August 9th 1933 to Martin and Katherine Kubiak in Bremond, Tx. She is one of 13 children having 8 sisters and 4 brothers. She married Bill J. Wierzbicki in Houston, Tx on April 30, 1949. She was blessed with 7 children and a granddaughter.
She enjoyed spending her time outside tending to her flower beds or her vegetable garden, taking care of her family, having conversations and laughs in the living room and sitting around the kitchen table playing dominos. She also had a love for the kitchen with some of her most anticipated dishes being her cabbage rolls, meat loaf, chili, fried shrimp, pecan pie and her christmas sugar cookies.
Gertrude is reunited with her parents, Martin and Katherine Kubiak, with her husband, Bill, and with her son, Leon. Those who will cherish her memory are her children, Eugene, James, Raymond and wife Rosie, Willie, Lucille and Susan, her granddaughter, Katherine, and her siblings, Francis Schesser and Felix Kubiak.
The family will accept family and friends of Gertrude for visitation on Friday, January 10, 2020 at 5pm to 7pm with a Rosary to follow at 7pm. Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 11, 2020 at Brookside Funeral Home in the Family Chapel at 10:00am with a burial to follow at Brookside Memorial Park.
Flowers will be accepted and for those wishing to send monetary donations, the family wishes the donation to be made in Gertrude’s name to Mercer Botanic Gardens, 22306 Aldine Westfield Rd, Humble, TX 77338.
