Gloria Eva De John

September 9, 2020. Gloria was the eleventh and last child born

to Eva and Biaggio Candelari. She was preceded in death by

her parents, three sisters: Mary, Amelia, Annie, and seven brothers,

Jimmy, Albert, Alphonso, Elmo, Selmo, Biaggio Jr and Gene.

Vincent De John, Gloria’s husband of forty-five years passed

in advance of her in 1993. Their four devoted children

included: Janet, and spouse Sammy, Christine,

Vincent Jr. and spouse Sylvia, and Les.

They were given the gift of seven grandchildren:

Lauren, and spouse Ryan, Stephen, Nicole, Dustin,

Brittani, Chelsea, and Quintin. In addition they were blessed

with seven great grandchildren: Chase, Cate, Luke, Vincent,

Javier, Noah, and Nathaniel. Gloria and Vincent had numerous

nieces, and nephews and were proud of all of them.

Early on in Gloria’s marriage, she assisted her husband in a family owned

grocery store. She obtained a beautician’s license, helped out at her

children’s schools when called upon, and was adored for her fried chicken.

She is known for her courage in taking full charge of her husband’s

devastating neurological disease, allowing him to remain home for four

years prior to his passing. Due to Gloria’s exemplary strength and

determination, she is known as “The Rock!”
