Known to family and friends as "Josie", she was a lifelong Houstonian from the Second Ward, Denver Harbor and Southwest Houston communities. Josie was the 8th child of nine children. Graduating from Incarnate Word, Josie began her working career with a local finance company starting from an entry clerk position working her way up to credit/branch manager. In 1960, Josie met Joe Rincon and they married shortly after their encounter. Joe and Josie as they were always referred to jointly had four children, Sabrina Rincon Atkinson, Joseph Rincon III, Antoinette Rincon Chorba, and Dr. Gregory Rincon.
Josie was involved in numerous church ministries such as Catholic Daughters, Guadeloupean’s, and as a Eucharistic Minister, at Resurrection, Our Lady of Guadalupe, and St. Marks Catholic Churches. She also was heavily involved in various community groups and other philanthropic organizations over her active years of life. Josie believed that giving back to the community was a responsible part of life and she instilled that in all her children.
Josie is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Joe Rincon on the 3rd of September 1997, and her parents James G. and Angelina Brown. Soon after Joe's death, Josie was stricken with the terrible Alzheimer's disease which limited her activities. Exactly 20 years later in the same month, and on the same day of the week, Josie was called back home to be with our Lord and Savior, her love Joe and with her numerous other family members that had preceded her in death. Josie is survived by her four children, Sabrina Rincon Atkinson, Joseph Rincon III and his wife, Dana; Antoinette Rincon Chorba and her husband Tom; and Dr. Gregory Rincon and his wife, Veronica; grandchildren, Brittany Atkinson Jenkins and her husband Ryan; Aaron Joseph Rincon and his wife, Kelly; Araceli Canales Rincon, Gregory Nathanael Rincon II, Jolie Rincon and Kaitlin Rincon, Christopher Starinsky; great grandchild, Khloe Jenkins and future 2018 great grandchild and numerous other relatives.
