

Gregory earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Applied Science from, Paul Quinn College in 1988 and a Master of Divinity degree from, Southern Methodist University Perkins School of Theology in 1992.
Gregory served for many years in the United States Military. He served in the U.S. Army from November 1985 – May 1995, and in the United States Navy as a Lieutenant Commander Chaplain from December 2003 – January 2012. Upon retiring from the Navy, he continued serving as a Staff Chaplain at Michael E. Debakey VA Medical Center Houston, Tx. from January 2012 – March 2025. Chaplain Gregory McCrimmon was an ordained Elder in the United Methodist Church of Great Plains Conference and served as the pastor at Community of Love United Methodist Church, Angleton, Texas. Gregory also served as pastor at Kansas Avenue United Methodist Church, Topeka, Ks. from 1996-2012.
Gregory McCrimmon is a member of the Theta Chi Chapter of the Omega Psi Phi Organization.
Gregory leaves behind a legacy of family and friends. He is survived by his wife, Terrie Barber-McCrimmon, son Nicholas McCrimmon, daughter Diondra McCrimmon, granddaughter Alexis Jackson and great-grandchildren Cannan, Easton, and Ana, siblings Donald (Francis) Harris, Memphis, TN., Alfred (Joyce) Bogans, Sapulpa, OK., Rev. Regina Wiggins, Nicoma Park, OK., Vivian Davis, Oklahoma City, OK., Brenda Cornelius, Carrollton, TX., Yvonne Powell, Largo, MD., Debra (Mike) Thompson, Waco, TX., Janice Washington, Gardena CA., Darrell McCrimmon, Houston, TX. Gregory is preceded in death by his parents Thomas Marshall McCrimmon Sr. and Mozelle McCrimmon, siblings Jennifer McCrimmon, Patsy Brown, Thomas McCrimmon Jr., and Roscoe Bogans.
