Lupe was born in Waelder, Texas on February 23, 1937 to Pedro and Alejo Mayorga. She moved to Houston when she was 18 years old. Her first job was at the BAMA Food Company, famous for their jams, preserves and peanut butter. A few years later she went to work with the electronics company Teledyne Mecca and she retired after 40 years.
Lupe was preceded by her parents Pedro & Alejo Mayorga, aunt and uncle, Lucio & Carmen Lozano and stepmother Bernarda Mayorga; sisters Cecilia Velasquez, Damiana Villaloboz, Lupe Villanueva, Marciana Ibarra and Julia Cantu; brothers Andres Mayorga, Modesto Mayorga and Ismael Lozano; and great niece Serena Angelina Font. Her brother Dino Mayorga, passed away on May 18, 2025.
Lupe is survived by the love of her life, Jorge Garcia, brother in law Louis Velasquez Jr., niece Norma Gonzales and nephew Gabriel Velasquez; sister Mary Reed; brothers Daniel Mayorga and Edward Mayorga.
The family wishes to express their deep appreciation to Cindy Garcia, Mara Zamora and Valerie Randall for all their time, support and care given to Lupe during the last few months of her life. Because of them she was able to live her last few weeks in her own home.
Forest Park Westheimer Funeral Home will host the viewing on Saturday, May 24, 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM with the recitation of a bilingual rosary at 10:30 AM. The Funeral Liturgy will begin at 11:00 AM immediately followed by the Committal Service.
