Harold was preceded in death by his loving wife Gertrude. He is survived by daughter Patricia Ann Thompson, son Harold Thompson, Jr., daughter Glenda Thompson Pratts and grandchildren Dr. Meghan E. Pratts, SrA Eric M. Pratts, Jennifer R. Pratts, Ens. Jason M. Pratts and wife Joannie Jalbuena Pratts.
He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle. His caring and gracious spirit was felt by all around him. His warmth, kindness, generosity and loyalty to those with whom he came in contact will be greatly missed. He will especially be remembered for his welcoming smile.
He graduated from John H. Regan High School in 1942 and served honorably in the US Navy from 1942 to 1945. He served as a railroad clerk for the Union Pacific Railroad from the age of 17 until his retirement at age 62.
