Helen Lee Carrier, at age 97, passed away peacefully in her home on September 16, 2021. Helen was born in Osyka, MS, to Carl E. Simmons and Willie Lois Raborn on January 7, 1924. The family sold the farm and moved to Houston, TX, in 1941 to work at Spears Dairy. Helen retired from Sakowitz Dept. Store and married her love and partner in a life well lived for 31 years, Murphy Carrier. Murphy was Executive Vice President and General Manager of the Lone Star Beer Co. and he and Helen were lifetime members of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. Helen is predeceased by Murphy, September 16, 1991, her parents, and a brother, Jimmy L. Simmons. Left to cherish her memory are sister Edna E. Wilburn, brother Carl E. Simmons and wife Mary, and many adoring nieces and nephews. Burial at Memorial Oaks Cemetery beside her husband on September 25, 2021.
