

Helen married her life-long partner Jerry on July 16th, 1941 after being introduced by her sister. Together they lived in Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Miami, FL, and New Orleans, LA before settling in Houston where they spent the last 50 years raising their three daughters.
During their life in Houston, Helen and Jerry enjoyed competitive bowling and teaching country western dance together. She loved music, especially playing the piano and singing. Helen sang in the choir at St. Rose of Lima Church and was a member of the Sweet Adelines. She remained active in her neighborhood and served many years on PTA at Durham Elementary. Helen also enjoyed playing bridge, gardening, studying and speaking French, learning to use the newest electronic device, and spending time with her family.
Helen was preceded in death by her daughter, Linda DeSalvo. She is survived by her loving husband of 73 years, Jerry Dodge, daughter Karen Doyle, daughter and son-in-law Kathy and Charles Allen, grandchildren Thomas, Patricia and Wendy Faterkowski, Sharon Cutler, and Tiffany, Ryan, and Justin DeSalvo, and great granddaughter Eva Cavalier.
