

Helen Irene Saunders Dotson born March 7, 1927 in West Palm Beach, Florida to Charles Saunders of Wales, England and Anna Crouse Saunders of Ohio. She was happily married for fifty-six years to the love of her life, James H. Dotson, President and former owner of Brookside Funeral Home and Cemetery. Mother of three: Dr. Kirk W. Dotson (wife Simone), Rebecca Ann Dotson Adams (husband Kent), and Mark T. Dotson (wife Joany). Loving grandmother to Connor Dotson, Matthew Doak, Lauren Laake, Travis Doak, Maetra Dotson and Annamieke Dotson and great-grandmother of six.
Helen was a graduate of San Jacinto High School and the University of Houston, Class Beauty of both, the first U of H Football Sweetheart, Varsity H Sweetheart, Honors Music Department graduate, Phi Beta Academic Music Fraternity, University orchestra soloist, soloist for the U.S.O. veterans, and the voice of The Saunders Three, entertaining statewide for social and charity events, Soprano guest soloist for Houston area churches, President of the Houston Horticulture Association and St. Matthews Garden Clubs, and one of the founders of Northwest Academy, now Houston Christian Academy, in Houston. She can now be heard singing for the Good Lord Above!

Visitation will be on Sunday, May 7 from 5:00-8:00pm at Brookside Funeral Home and a service of remembrance will be held on Monday, May 8 at 2:30pm in the Chapel of the Chimes at Brookside Memorial Park.
