Helena Lopez Trejo

Helena Lopez Trejo passed away on April 8th, 2016, with her daughter Mary Helen Rodrigue and son-in-law David Rodrigue by her side. A lover of everything from shopping to wrestling, Helena’s zest for life comprises memories that shall outlive her family and friends. While she will no longer be physically in our presence, her spirit lives on in all of us. Helena was literally everyone’s “Granny”. From her grandchildren’s friends and their kids to the neighborhood kids, her aura drew many close to her heart. Helena is survived by her two daughters, Mary Helen Rodrigue (husband David), and Rose Mary Bravo; five grandchildren: Andres Bravo, Tracie Alvarado, Alfred Alvarado III (wife Monica), Yvonne Sepulveda, and Angela Lopez (husband Roland); five great grandchildren: Jacob Martinez, Ryan Lopez, Katalina Alvarado, Savannah Alvarado, and Angelina Alvarado. She is also survived by her sister Francis Alvarado as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Helena is preceded in death by her son Henry Sepulveda, her sisters Rachel Vela and Irma Poindexter, her brothers Jesse and Johnny Lopez and her former husband Roy Trejo.

Visitation will be at Crespo Funeral Home at 2516 Navigation Blvd, Houston, Texas 77003 (713-225-9567) on Wednesday, April 13, 2016 from 5-9:00 p.m., with rosary at 7-7:30 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 14, 2016 at Holy Name Catholic Church, 1917 Cochran Street, Houston, Texas 77009. Interment will be in the Historic Hollywood Cemetery at a later date in a private ceremony.
