Henry Wesley Hall, 85, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, entered eternal life on April 23, 2024. He was devoted to his family, his business career, his church and his Twin Creek Ranch.
Wes was born on January 9, 1939, in Dallas, Texas. He grew up on a farm as the second of four children born to Jack A. Hall and Melba Johnston Hall. They were a family of modest means, but abundant love. Wes graduated from Seagoville High School in 1957 and from North Texas State University in 1961 with a BBA in Business.
Upon graduation, Wes began a business career that would span five decades. His career began in 1961 as a management trainee at the Sherwin Williams Paint Company. Wes discovered that he was at home in the business world and he excelled in a number of different roles with several companies, large and small. He served as Vice President of Chemical Associates, Vice President of Browning Ferris Industries, and in 1976 became President and CEO and Chairman of Team Inc. While with Team, Wes also served as Chairman of the Listed Advisory Committee for the American Stock Exchange in New York. After leaving Team, Wes continued to pursue opportunities, forming his own industrial supply company that he operated until its sale in 2011.
Wes loved his Twin Creek Ranch in Schulenberg, Texas where he and Lou spent almost every weekend in their early years and where they called home in their later years. He raised Santa Gertrudis Cattle along with his Quarter Horses. Wes served as Past President of Mid-Coast Santa Gertrudis. Also, for many years, he was Sales Chairman of the Santa Gertrudis Bluebonnet Classic in Hallettsville, Texas. The ranch brought him back to his roots and served as a gathering place for his family.
Wes was devoted to the church. In particular, he held many leadership roles with First Methodist Houston, where he served as Chairman of the Trustees, Chairman of the Finance Committee and Chairman of the Building Committee. Wes was particularly proud of his leadership roles related to the financing and construction of First Methodist’s campus in West Houston.
Wes is survived by Lou, his wife of more than forty years; his children Julie Hall Lynch (John) of Houston; Cindy Feste Boynton (Bryan) of San Antonio; Gregory Feste (Kelley) of Houston; and Joey Feste (Kelley) of San Antonio; his grandchildren Daniel Lynch (Jordan), Emily Lynch, Jack Lynch, Scott Boynton (Nicole), Sarah Boynton Gibbons, Drew Boynton, Gregory Feste (Ginger), Kristen Feste Glogow (Greg), Hannah Feste, Caleb Feste, Joey Feste (Jaynie), Travis Feste (Ashley) and Annie Feste; his 18 great grandchildren; and his sisters Linda Cade and Darlene Reed (Paul). Wes was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Melba Hall; his first wife, Janet Smith Hall; his brother Charles Ray Hall; and his grandson Joshua Feste.
A celebration of Wes’ life will be held on April 30, 2024 at 12:30 p.m. at First Methodist Houston – West Campus (10570 Westpark Drive, Houston).
