

Alvin was born in Normangee, Texas on February 12,1940 to Truman Wren and Corine Moon (Walker).
After high school Alvin served four years in the United States Army. He then spent several years in the banking industry before joining the Houston Independent School District where he retired after 35 years as the Superintendent of Transportation. Alvin was a hard-working man who was always willing to lend a hand. He loved his family, friends and grandkids and spent many weekends with them, camping and fishing on Lake Livingston.
Alvin was preceded in death by his wife of fifty years, Barbara Jean, Kirk Kennedy, son-in-law, David Durand, grandson, Austin Moon, Father, Truman Moon, mother, Corine Walker, and sister, Bernice.
He is survived by siblings; Jean Rutledge, Virginia Daltry, Truman Lamar Moon, children; Pam Durand, Alvin “Rusty” Moon, Don Moon, grandchildren; Justyn Durand, Blake Durand (Laura), Logan Baranowski (Brannon), Mark (Lauren) Moon, Kirsten (Jake) Kinzbach, Austin Moon, Daniel (Breanna) Moon, great grandchildren; Carter Durand, Kynlee Durand, Weston Durand, Brooks Baranowski, Callan Baranowski, Tinsley Moon, Harper Kinzbach, Carter Moon, Amiah Moon, Sadie Moon.
Alvin’s Celebration of Life will be held at Brookside Funeral Home and Cemetery,13401 Eastex Frwy. in Houston on Friday, September 23. The viewing will be from 12:00-1:00, the service from 1:00-2:00 and the burial at 2:00 there at the cemetery.
A visitation for Henry will be held Friday, September 23, 2022 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Brookside Funeral Home, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, TX 77039. A funeral service will proceed and begin promptly at 1:00 PM in the Grand Chapel at Brookside, followed by burial in Brookside Memorial Park.
