Herbert George Kidd, Jr.,"Herb", beloved and devoted husband, father and grandfather, went to be with the Lord on August 28, 2012. Herb was born on December 5, 1926 in Niles, Ohio to Helen Matilda Grisel and Herbert George Kidd, Sr., but was a lifelong Houston resident. He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers, John Ebenezer Kidd, Phillip Wesley Kidd, sister Joyee Kidd Morrison and stepson Ray Winslow Blackman. He is survived by his loving wife, Verdena Parmer Kidd, daughter Kimmy Kidd Erdeljac and husband Danny, daughter Vikki Kidd Evans and husband Stanley, son Herbert George Kidd, III and wife Elly, stepson Jeff Spears, seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren. He is also survived by his younger sister, Alva Kidd Thomas and many other beloved nieces, nephews and friends. The family is very grateful to Dr. Roger Campana, MD and his nurse Katie Jones for their compassion and extraordinary care. Herb was enlisted in the US Army as a dental assistant during World War II. He was employed by Ford Motor Company for 32 years. Services will be held at Forest Park Westheimer Funeral Home on Sunday, September 2, 2012 at 2:00 pm in the Chapel.
